Family Photography
As the saying goes: "the days may be long, but the years are short" ... and wow, can they fly by! There is no greater gift than the tangible memories that family photographs provide. Whether you are interested in capturing your immediate family, just the kids, or multiple generations, I would be honored to be part of capturing your memories.
Personalized Locations
Family Photography should be focused on your family in a location that highlights your life and love. As a lifelong Naperville resident, I know the area and can provide location guidance as needed. I always provide multiple location options and lean towards sites that provide a variety of backgrounds and settings so that your gallery includes a wide selection of images.
Your home is where your heart is. There is never an extra charge for home photo sessions. As your family photographer, my goal is to capture what is most important to you as a family, and for many clients, that includes their home. For young children, home sessions allow flexibility and security that helps to put them at ease and make the experience as easy as possible for the whole family.
Styling Assistance
When you and your family are comfortable, your true personalities can really show through. While, of course, you are always welcome to wear anything you would like, should you prefer a bit more assistance and feedback on clothing, as your family photographer, I am here to assist every step of the way. I am happy to consult and assist in anyway necessary to be sure your images best showcase your family.
Relaxing Sessions
My priority is always to capture your family at their best. For this reason, you will never see a timer at your session. While most family photography sessions last approximately 60 minutes, some sessions will be shorter and some, much longer. The timing will depend on location, family dynamics, time of day, and how the session naturally progresses.
Timeless Images and Artwork
My greatest wish is that your images will be enjoyed for a lifetime. With that in mind, my goal is to provide images that are true to life, but better. All final images will include editing and gentle retouching.
While all packages include digital images, I am also here to walk you through your options of art quality products. All products are supplied by high end, professional grade labs in order to ensure they meet the highest quality standards and will be enjoyed by your family for a lifetime.
Preparing for your Family Photo Session
Come ready for some fun and lots of laughs!
Ladies, hairspray is your friend! I can fix the occasional flyaway in Photoshop, but will not fix a full head of hair … we will be outside and it is likely to be breezy… use hair spray generously!!!
We will be walking… not hiking, but walking… so heels would be a very questionable choice. Boots, flats, anything comfy for walking are great options!
We will be moving between multiple locations and I will be taking many images of your family interactions as we move around. Please leave purses, bags, extra layers, etc., in the car!
It may get chilly… depending on the sun, wind, etc., so come prepared! These photos are about your family, not just your outfits… please feel free to bring gloves, scarves, wear layers… you will look better if you are comfortable!!!
If you have any particular “must have” groupings, please bring a list or drop me a pre-session text. We will obviously cover all the basics… family, couple, kids, girls, boys… etc., but if you have other groupings you would definitely like, please let me know so we don’t miss anything.
If your furry friends are joining us… please make sure to bring leashes, bags, and some treats!
Finally, we are capturing your family and your love. Please remind everyone that, while we will get a couple “holiday card shots” of everyone looking at the camera, the true magic will happen when you all just enjoy the time together. Everyone does NOT need to look at the camera for every shot!!!
